The John Abraham-starrer sci-fi action film Attack: Part 1 (2022) has been rejected by the audience. Directed by Lakshya Raj Anand, the film could manage a total of just Rs10 crore in the first three days in cinemas, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
After making a poor opening of Rs3.25 crore nett on Friday, Attack needed a big jump on the next two days if it were to stand any chance of recovering its investment. That did not happen as the film made the same amount on Saturday and a marginally higher Rs3.50 crore on Sunday.
Attack is said to have been made at a cost of Rs55 crore and with just Rs10 crore in its kitty on its first weekend in cinemas, the film appears to be headed for the same fate as John’s previous release Satyameva Jayate 2 (2021).
Meanwhile, the phenomenal run of the Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s Roudram Ranam Rudhiram aka RRR (2022) continues. Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film recorded a strong collection of Rs51.25 crore nett on its second weekend.
RRR's grand total in Hindi alone now stands at Rs183.21 crore. The film is certain to enter the Rs200 crore club in the next few days and may well go on to mint a few score crores more.
The delicious irony is that Jayantilal Gada of Pen Movies is one of the producers of both Attack and RRR.
