The nominations for the 22nd edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards were announced on 1 April in 12 categories. Hindi films Shershaah (2021), 83 (2021) and Ludo (2020) lead the pack.

Originally slated to have taken place last month, the awards were delayed by the growing number of COVID-19 cases globally with the Omicron variant spreading. The ceremony is being held after a gap of two years.

The Siddharth Malhotra-starrer Shershaah dominates this year’s edition with 12 nominations while Kabir Khan's sports drama 83 follows with nine and Anurag Basu’s multi-starrer Ludo takes third place with six. Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad (2020) and Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re (2021) both have five nominations while the Kriti Sanon-starrer Mimi (2021) has four.

This year's edition will be co-hosted by Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Ananya Panday, and Nora Fatehi are expected to perform at the event. The awards ceremony is being held 20 and 21 May on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.
