Girish Kulkarni's upcoming Marathi movie Bhirkit has finally got a release date. The film, which also stars Hrishikesh Joshi and Tanaji Galgunde, will arrive in cinemas on 17 June.
The makers announced the release date along with a new poster that sees Kulkarni riding a scooter. The film has been directed by Anup Jagdale, who has also written the film's story. Pratap Gangavane has written the film's screenplay and dialogues.
Speaking about the film, Jagdale said, "This is a black comedy film. In this day and age, everyone is running after money and fame. This film revolves around one such eccentric person, who is stuck in a strange situation that gives rise to many unintentionally funny situations."
This is Jagdale's third directorial venture after Bharla Malwat Rakhtaana (2014) and Zhalla Bobhata (2017).
Bhirkit also stars Monalisa Bagal, Sagar Karande, Kushal Badrike, Kailash Waghmare, Yakub Sayyed and Usha Naik.
The film's music has been composed by Shail and Pritesh and it has been edited by Faizal Mahadik. Presented by Classic Enterprise, the film has been produced by Suresh Oswal and Bhagyawanti Oswal and will be distributed by UFO Cine Media Network.
Bhirkit is expected to clash with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh’s Doctor G and Lalit Prabhakar and Sai Tamhankar's Marathi movie Medium Spicy at the box office.
