Dhaakad trailer: Kangana Ranaut plays a trigger-happy secret agent

Sleek action thrillers with heavy use of technology have been in vogue in mainstream Hindi cinema in recent years. But there are two reasons why Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai’s Dhaakad stands apart from other films in this genre, as far as can be guessed from the trailer.

This is one of those rare high-octane action thrillers where a woman is at the helm of affairs. Kangana Ranaut appears so much at ease playiing a ruthless intelligence agent that you soon forget this is an action film with a female protagonist.

The other reason is the quality of action and stunt sequences that are modern and technically sound. Ranaut scores high marks even here.

The trailer indicates that Dhaakad is about Agent Agni (Ranaut), a secret agent who is fearless and dedicated. She is always ready for action, be it in India or abroad. She gets the task of eliminating a man called Rudraveer (Arjun Rampal) who runs a human-trafficking racket from the coal mines of central India. She gets help from a sex worker (Divya Dutta).

Rampal appears menacing as a ruthless villain. Although not much of Dutta's character is seen in the trailer, she appears fit for the role.
