Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video has announced as many as 41 titles at a grand event in Mumbai. Among these, is a slate of original films.
The upcoming feature that made heads turn the most at the event was the Madhuri Dixit-starrer Maja Maa. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the drama also stars Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, Srishti Shrivastava, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajit Kapur and Simone Singh. It tells an amusing tale of a mother of a groom in Baroda, Gujarat.
Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment announced Aye Watan… Mere Watan, which, as the name suggests, is the story about India’s freedom struggle. Directed by Kannan Iyer, the film’s cast is currently kept under wraps.
Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films’ Tiku Weds Sheru also piqued the interest of all in attendance because of the actress's larger-than-life presence. Directed by Sai Kabir, the film is an unusual love story starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur. The project is considered a ‘special collaboration’.
Director Charukesh Sekar’s Telugu movie Ammu is about a woman’s unusual plan to deal with her abusive husband. Aishwarya Lakshmi, Naveen Chandra and Bobby Simha comprise the primary cast.
