Sachin Kundalkar’s much-delayed Hindi movie Cobalt Blue (2022) was finally released on Netflix yesterday.

The film is adapted from Kundalkar's own Marathi novel of the same name and stars Prateik Babbar, Neelay Mehendale and Anjali Sivaraman.

Strangely, Kundalkar has not been given the director's credit for the film. What's more, no one else has. There is no director's credit either in the opening or the end credits. This was pointed out by some people on social media.

Netflix has credited Kundalkar for the original novel and for writing the screenplay and dialogues.

Kundalkar did not respond when Cinestaan.com tried to contact him.

The long-delayed Cobalt Blue was supposed to be released directly on Netflix last December. But the release was delayed without any reason being cited.

Last week, on 31 March, Cinestaan.com reported that there was still no clarity on the film’s release. Geetanjali Kulkarni, one of the members of the film's cast, had revealed this.

The very next day, Netflix announced that the film would be released on 2 April. And so it was, without any promotions by the streaming giant or the film's producers.
