Shahid Kapoor will be seen in Raj and DK’s Farzi, his first OTT [over-the-top] show, alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Raashii Khanna. The Amazon Prime Video web-series is centred on a fake currency notes scam.

During the launch of the show at a grand event in Mumbai, Kapoor said that although he had acted in many films, he was nervous about his OTT debut. “I keep saying that to my wonderful directors Raj and DK, who are veterans at this, that I am so nervous to be debuting on an OTT platform because it’s so different from what we do in movies,” he said. “It’s a completely different medium and platform.”

He added, “I am very nervous and very excited at the same time. I always wanted to do something which is a change for me. I have been doing this for about 18 years. So I wanted to do something that’s challenging and different.”

Kapoor added that Farzi was something that suited him the most. “This story and character really resonated with what I wanted to do,” he said. “To me, it matches up to any and every film that I have done. I feel it will be as original for me as any character I might have done. I am super excited to share this with the world and all the viewers of Amazon Prime [Video]. I can’t wait to see what people think about it.”

Farzi also stars Kay Kay Menon, Kubbra Sait, Regina Cassandra, Amol Palekar, Zakir Hussain and Bhuvan Arora.
