Chandramukhi song 'Sawal Jawab': Amruta Khanvilkar and Prajakta Mali engage in a battle of wits in this folk tune

The sub-genre of lavani folk music, which has been neglected by the mainstream media for decades, gets a new lease of life with the song 'Sawal Jawab' from Chandramukhi.

In this lively number, Amruta Khanvilkar and Prajakta Mali engage in a battle of wits, posing difficult riddles to each other. Both actresses dance gracefully to the melodious tune while also trying to outsmart each other. 

Madhura Datar and Priyanka Barve's soulful vocals add tenderness to this playful banter. But it's Guru Thakur who deserves the most credit for his simple yet profound lyrics. The composer duo Ajay- Atul has made sure to maintain the sanctity of the original folk tune.

Chandramukhi is adapted from author Vishwas Patil’s Marathi novel of the same name. Directed by Prasad Oak, the film is set to be released in theatres on 29 April.
