Next film with Suriya will be more challenging than Soorarai Pottru, says Sudha Kongara

The project will commence after the filmmaker finishes shooting the Hindi remake of the acclaimed film, starring Akshay Kumar.

Suriya and filmmaker Sudha Kongara, whose last collaboration Soorarai Pottru (2020) received universal acclaim, are all set to reunite for a new project.

In an interview with the film portal Cinema Vikatan, Sudha opened up about her next project with the actor, clarifying that it won’t be a biopic.

Soorarai Pottru review: An inspiring story of hope and triumph headlined by a phenomenal Suriya

She said, “It’s going to be more challenging than Soorarai Pottru for me. I’m scared and worried because it’s very big, scale-wise. It’s a true story. It’s based on a real-life incident, which bothered me so much and I want to say it as a film.”

Sudha will commence work on this project after shooting the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru starring Akshay Kumar. The yet-untitled project was launched earlier this week in Mumbai.

The project will mark Suriya’s first foray into the Hindi film industry as a producer as his banner 2D Entertainment is associated with the Hindi remake. The project is also being bankrolled by Abundantia Entertainment.

Suriya took to Twitter on Monday to share pictures from the launch ceremony. In one of the pictures, he can be seen posing with Akshay Kumar.

“A new beginning. Need all your love and blessings (sic),” He wrote.
