Actor Saheb Chatterjee will be seen as a character named Somak in Shieladitya Moulik’s upcoming film Hridpindo.
Produced by Kan Singh Sodha’s KSS Productions & Entertainment, the movie was supposed to arrive in theatres in 2020 but the release was postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. The film will finally be released on 13 May.
In the film, Somak deeply loves his wife Arya (Arpita Chatterjee). When the latter meets with an accident and begins to suffer from a psychological disorder, Arya’s former lover Rick (Prantik Banerjee) emerges to help her get back on her feet. While their camaraderie makes him feel insecure, Somak puts aside his reservations for the sake of his beloved.
Speaking of his experience of working in the film, Saheb Chatterjee said, “The story is very close to my heart. I have worked with a lot of passion and love. I remember the shooting experience, though it has been three years now. I never felt any fatigue, while waking up early and giving the shots. I enjoyed the process because getting into character gave me a satisfying experience.”
Refusing to speak about his character in detail, he said, “I can only say that my character loves with all his heart.”
According to the actor, Moulik has an out-of-the-box thought process and a different approach to storytelling. “The film has a beautiful script. Shieladitya has aced both conceptualizing the story and writing the screenplay” he added.
Saheb Chatterjee further stated that another striking feature of Hridpindo is its music. “Ranajoy Bhattacharjee is simply splendid. We still listen to his song 'Preme Pora Baron' from Shieladitya's first film Sweater (2019). They are a fabulous combination.”
Praising the work of cinematographer Souvik Basu, the actor said, “We all call him Chintoo. Chintoo has added milage to the film. We have shot the film in Arunachal Pradesh, which has lent the film a beautiful canvas.”
The actor said he considers his co-star Arpita Chatterjee to be a strong actress. "Prantik is like my younger sibling and he too has done a fabulous job," he added.
Saheb Chatterjee said if people do not watch the film on the big screen, it would be a shame. "There was speculation regarding the film’s release for the last three years and I sincerely thank Kan Singh Sodha for taking the initiative to finally release the film in theatres,” he added.
