Pet Puraan helped Sai Tamhankar overcome her fear of animals, says Dnyanesh Zoting

Director Dnyanesh Zoting’s upcoming Marathi web-series on SonyLIV, titled Pet Puraan, is the story of a married couple Aditi and Atul, played by Sai Tamhankar and Lalit Prabhakar, respectively, who are under pressure from relatives to have a baby. They end up becoming parents to a kitten and a pup and realize that looking after two pets is far more challenging than bringing up a child.

Zoting, who is personally fond of pets, had a good time shooting with the cat and the dog on sets. He said the show helped Tamhankar overcome her fear of pets. “We were excited to work with these amazing pets," the director said. "The cast and crew got really friendly with them, especially Sai, who was afraid of animals. She eventually grew fond of them.”

The filmmaker got so fond of the kitten used in the show that it remains with him. “I fell in love with the kitten from the beginning," he said. "I would spend all my free time playing with it and cuddling it. I couldn’t help it. By the time we finished the shoot, I adopted the furry baby.”
