Actor Akshay Oberoi has started shooting for Manish Singh’s Varchasva. The crime thriller also features Ravi Kishan and Tridha Choudhury.
The actor shared the news on Instagram with a picture of a clapperboard, announcing the film's mahurat. The post's caption read, “Varchasva - Yahan rishto ki koi keemat nahi. Koyla aur Dhanbad, jitna kaala yahan ka koyla usse jyada kaali yahan ki hawa. Filming now!”
The actor who has mostly played rich or elite characters will be seen as a labourer for the first time in Varchasva.
Known for his performance in the Eros Now original series Flesh (2020) and Illegal, the actor is excited about exploring a new facet of his craft through this crime thriller.
Varchasva revolves around the rise of a labourer who begins working for a don.
“I will be playing a character from Bihar who comes to Dhanbad to seek work in Varchasva,” said Oberoi. “This is an important film because for the first time my work will mirror the unspoken realities of the common man. What excites me are the themes of morality, greed, materialism and integrity in the crime thriller.”
Oberoi’s other upcoming projects are Cold, penned by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Vikram Bhatt, and Pawan Kripalani's Gaslight.
