Filmmaker Koratala Siva is busy with the promotions of the Telugu action-drama Acharya, which sees Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan sharing screen space in full-length roles for the first time. In an interview, he revealed why he opted for Mahesh Babu to narrate the first two minutes of the movie.

Mahesh will introduce Padaghattam, the fictional town where Acharya is set, to the audience.

“There’s a backstory to the temple town. I wanted a voice to narrate the story of the town and take audiences into the film. I wanted a known voice, of some stature and personality. When I approached Mahesh sir, he immediately agreed and said, ‘it’s our Chiranjeevi sir’s film’,” Siva said.

Acharya, as per reports, will be about a middle-aged Maoist-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the endowments department over misappropriation and embezzlement of temple funds and donations.

Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan will share the screen with his father in a full-length role for the first time in Acharya. Chiranjeevi played a special appearance in Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee: The Fighter (2015).

Chiranjeevi has two more projects in the offing. It was recently announced that he will star in the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Vedalam (2015). The project has been titled Bholaa Shankar, and it also stars Keerthy Suresh as his sister.
