Actress Ritabhari Chakraborty has started shooting for the film Fatafati, which also stars Abir Chatterjee. Directed by Aritra Mukherjee, the movie deals with the issue of body-shaming.
On 8 March, International Women’s Day, the film's backers — Windows Production — released a video, which highlighted how the hourglass figure has been considered an ideal for women for years and also revealed Chakraborty’s look as a plus-size model.
The actress, who also played the protagonist in Mukherjee’s Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti (2020), has undergone a massive physical transformation for the film. Chatterjee will be seen as her husband.
“Fatafati is a film very close to my heart because of its message," said Chakraborty, "Tracing a journey of a plus-size model while exploring the idea of unrealistic beauty standards is already a winner in my head! I am super excited to start working on it with Abir Chatterjee."
