The Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey, which made a meagre Rs3.75 crore nett on its opening day, needed to see a massive boost in box-office numbers to stay afloat. But the Gowtam Tinnanuri-helmed film collected only Rs5 crore and Rs5.15 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The film, according to sources, was made on a budget of around Rs80 crore, but its grand total currently stands at Rs13.90 crore. At this rate, the film is unlikely to break even.
Jersey is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name directed by Gowtam himself. It starred Nani.
Jersey was also affected by the juggernaut that is KGF: Chapter 2 (2022). The Hindi version of the Yash-starrer had a brilliant second weekend where it minted Rs51.25 crore nett. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the movie has so far collected Rs315 crore in its Hindi version alone.
The film’s performance on its second Monday will determine whether it will approach the Rs400 crore.
