The third edition of the International Gujarati Film Festival (IGFF) will be held from 20 to 22 May in Atlanta, Georgia.

The festival was not held for the past two years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Supported by Gujarat Tourism, IGFF was held in 2018 in New Jersey and the following year in both Los Angeles and New Jersey. The previous editions of the festival, which aims to take Gujarati cinema from the local to the global level, have seen over 5,000 attendees.

As the first regional film festival of India to take place outside the country, IGFF brings professional and amateur filmmakers together to celebrate the evolving world of Gujarati cinema.

Pan Nalin’s Chhello Show (The Last Film Show) will open the festival on 20 May after a grand red carpet event. The festival director, filmmaker Umesh Shukla, will be joined by the jury members — cinematographer Faroukh Mistry, artiste Gopi Desai, author Jay Vasavada and writer Saumya Joshi.

Heart of Chhello Show is the jugaadu spirit, says filmmaker Pan Nalin

Artistes from the Gujarati film industry, along with local members of Gujarati community, will also be attending. The festival will screen features and shorts in the four categories and award a grand prize at the end.
