Sunny Deol will be back in an angry avatar after a long time. This is what it seems from the announcement of his upcoming movie Soorya. The actor took to Instagram to announce the film where he plays the titular role.
The film is the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Joseph (2018). It will be directed by M Padmakumar, who had also helmed the original.
Deol captioned his post, “He had all the happiness, but then the journey of life took away his happiness and he was left with hate, anger and vengeance. But Soorya found a purpose.”
Deol also shared his first look from the film. He is seen sitting outside a house dressed in a simple shirt and trousers. His old-fashioned brown slippers are difficult to ignore. He has grown a beard to play this particular character. His expression indicates that he is lost in thought.
The actor did not reveal the director, producers or other details about the film.
Deol has quite a few films lined up other than Soorya. Two of these are Gadar 2 and Apne 2, both sequels to two very successful movies by director Anil Sharma.
He will also be seen in R Balki’s next titled Chup: Revenge Of The Arist. The film, an ode to the legendary Guru Dutt, is a psychological thriller. It also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt.
