Box office – KGF: Chapter 2 (Hindi) has phenomenal first week; RRR rampage continues

The Hindi version of director Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) had a brilliant first week at the box office. Starring Yash, the film amassed Rs263.75 crore nett, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

After earning Rs190.50 crore on its extended first weekend, the movie made an impressive Rs25crore on its first Monday. Since then, the numbers have been seeing a drop with the film raking in Rs13.25 crore on Thursday. But KGF: Chapter 2 appears all set now to enter the elusive Rs300 crore club.

Meanwhile, the Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s Roudram Ranam Rudhiram aka RRR (2022) is still going strong at the box office even in its fourth week, making Rs14.40 crore. The film's grand total in this language is Rs255.87 crore.

The Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey, which was finally released today after several delays, did not have a good turnout till afternoon. If the film does not pick up on Saturday and Sunday, it will leave the field open for KGF: Chapter 2 and RRR.
