Aneek Chaudhuri’s Hindi-language feature The Tale Of A Santa And His Moth, will be a part of the Marche du Film section at the Festival de Cannes 2022.
Marche du Film is the market section at the festival, which is open to distributors, marketers and buyers.
The Tale Of A Santa And His Moth is a take on the perspective of third-world countries on war and the effects on war on them.
The film, which makes a serious comment on sustaining relationships while providing the basic comforts of life, stars Pawan Chopra, who plays a bisexual widower, and Usha Banerjee, who plays his daughter.
Aneek Chaudhuri said, “The exposure one gets at the marketplace of Cannes is enormous and it has helped me in the recent past. I expect the same this time as well. Thankfully, I have got Organic Cinema, Inc as the presenter of the film, which eases the whole process and so I can concentrate on the artistic part.”
Speaking about the impact of war and its depiction in the film, he said, “War spells devastation and a three-letter word can never echo its aftermath. The film tries to state the aftermath on developing nations.
"War adds up to the psychological impact on the whole globe and we are not untouched by it. The Tale Of A Santa And His Moth is a statement of how even the minutest of beings survive to fulfil the needs of their loved ones rather than being selfish; sustenance at times comes second to fulfilling the emotional needs of a person. Most importantly, this film is something I have not crafted before.”
The film has been produced under the banner of Tubelight Entertainment Productions in association with Organic Cinema, Inc.
