Writer-turned-director Srijato Bandyopadhyay has finished shooting his debut feature film Manobjomin. The filmmaker recently shared a photo of the cast and crew, including leads Parambrata Chatterjee and Priyanka Sarkar, on Facebook.
Also starring veteran actor Paran Bandopadhyay, Manobjomin is a romantic comedy. In a recent Facebook Live video, Bandopadhyay stated that art and culture serve an entertainment purpose but there is a social aspect too. According to him, the director has fulfilled all his responsibilities.
“There is a social message with ample entertaining elements in the film. I have enjoyed working with the team, which has been extremely accommodating,” added Bandopadhyay.
Srijato claimed that he hasn’t come to terms with being a director yet. “It is a collective effort, and I am extremely lucky that I have got such an incredible directorial team to take care of the journey," he said.
“I have conceived the storyline and written the dialogues. But I am learning more about frames and shots while working on the film with my team. There is a lot to learn and I feel I have enrolled in a new school,” said the poet who made his debut as a screenwriter with Indraadip Dasgupta’s Kedara (2019).
