Actor Mahesh Dongre to make debut as director, writer with Samrenu

Samrenu actor Mahesh Dongre will make his debut as a director and writer with the Marathi movie.

Produced by MR Films World, the film stars another newcomer, Ruchita Rahul Mangade. 

The artistes play lovers named Samya and Renu. After the success of Sairat (2016), there has been a slew of movies about young men and women from different social strata in a village falling in love and facing obstacles. Samrenu seems to be another such film.

According to the teaser, Samya and Renu are madly in love with each other and they wish to get married but a villain named Santya (Pai Bharat Liman) makes life tough for them. 

Speaking about the film, Dongre said in a statement, “Samrenu is my first film as an actor and director. Along with me, the entire team is excited about this movie. The audience will get to see a different twist in the love story of Samya and Renu. The team involved in the music of the film is experienced and terrific. So I am sure that the audience will like the songs along with the film itself.” 

Samrenu will be released in theatres on 13 May.
