Institute Of Pavtology teaser: Girish Kulkarni teaches at school for scoundrels

The first thing that strikes you about directors Prasad Namjoshi and Sagar Chhaya Vanjari’s Institute Of Pavtology is the unusual title. 

Starring Girish Kulkarni and Sayaji Shinde, the film is about an institute that trains youngsters to become pavtas [hooligans] who can be employed mostly by politicians as their side-kicks or muscle. The idea is thought of by a teacher [Kulkarni] whose coaching classes get shut due to certain circumstances. 

The first teaser of Institute Of Pavtology, which has just been released, doesn’t give any idea about the story. It is also haphazardly cut.

The casting of Kulkarni and Shinde, who plays the vice-chancellor of a university, is interesting. Both actors haven’t acted alongside each other before. The film also stars Deepti Devi and Parth Bhalerao as well as a long list of young actors as students of the institute. 

Vanjari’s last film as a director was the highly acclaimed Redu (2018), which starred Shashank Shinde and Chhaya Kadam. The two actors make cameos in this movie. Namjoshi is known for directing Rangaa Patangaa (2016) and writing the Neena Kulkarni-starrer Photo Prem (2021).
