The team behind the war drama Pippa (2022), starring Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur, celebrated the completion of the shoot in Mumbai on 14 April. The feature was shot at Nashik, Pune and Mumbai in Maharashtra as well in West Bengal.

The wrap-up party was attended by the two leads along with producers Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur and director Raja Krishna Menon. The team cut a two-tier cake at the event.

In the film, Khatter plays Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. Pippa is based on his memoir of the Indo-Pak war of 1971, The Burning Chaffees. The film’s title is drawn from a PT-76, a Soviet amphibious light tank, which Mehta and his men nicknamed Pippa.

Earlier this week, the producers also shared stills of Khatter as Brigadier Mehta. In the first one, he is saluting while in uniform, while in the other two, he takes to the dance floor (and table) in what seems like a lively song.

Produced by RSVP and Roy Kapur Films, the war drama features a score by AR Rahman. Pippa, which also Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan, is due to be released in theatres on 9 December.
