The advance booking for the Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) was crazily high, suggesting that the film was likely to see a huge opening and that is exactly what has happened. The first-day box-office collection of the Hindi version of the film was a mammoth Rs52.50 crore nett, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

With this, KGF: Chapter 2 has set a new record for highest opening for a Hindi film. The previous mark was set by the Hrithik Roshan- and Tiger Shroff-starrer War (2019), which had opened with Rs50.75 crore nett. The third spot in the table belongs to Thugs Of Hindostan (2018) with Rs48.27 crore.

War, directed by Siddharth Anand, went on to become a blockbuster hit, finishing its journey at the India box office with a huge Rs292.71 crore nett. On the other hand, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan's Thugs Of Hindostan declined from the second day onwards and turned out to be a flop.
