Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 teaser: Kartik Aaryan takes the lead in this supernatural sequel

While the sequel to Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) has a new director and a cast, a few things have been retained in the comedy horror film. The teaser of the upcoming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) takes us to an empty mansion, where the familiar Bengali song from the first film ‘Ami Je Tomar’ sung by Shreya Ghoshal can be heard in the hallways.

Naturally, it hints at the return of ghost of Manjulika, who was banished earlier. But it also means it’s time for Kartik Aaryan to step up here to deal with her once more. The actor is joined by  Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra.

Yadav, who was also in the first film, is seen in the teaser along with Aaryan as he gears up to ward off the evil spirits. While the teaser doesn’t reveal much, and keeps the actresses undercover for now, it increases our curiosity on how the story will be told this time around.

While filmmaker Priyadarshan directed the first film, which itself was a remake of the 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, the sequel has been directed by Anees Bazmee.
 
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Anjum Khetani and Krishan Kumar under the banners of T-Series and Cine 1 Studios, the film will be distributed by AA Films.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is due to be released in theatres on 20 May.
