Director Pandurang Krishna Jadhav’s Bharat Majha Desh Aahe is about the plight of families of soldiers who are posted at the India-Pakistan border.
A soldier’s father (Shashank Shende), mother (Chhaya Kadam), wife (Hemangi Kavi) and son get worried after tensions escalate in Kashmir.
The mother’s anxiety reaches such a level that she decides to sacrifice the family goat, Narya, if her son returns home safely. This doesn’t go down well with the soldier’s son because he is attached to the animal. The story instantly reminds you of another Marathi movie, Peter (2021).
One grasps the story from the 30-second teaser only after multiple watches. It is an ideal example of how not to cut a teaser. Too many scenes are assembled haphazardly.
Despite the teaser, Bharat Majha Desh Aahe is promising because of the storyline and the talented cast. One can only hope that the trailer turns out better.
Produced by Ashish Agrawal and distributed by Pickle Entertainment, Bharat Majha Desh Aahe will be released on 6 May.
