After releasing the lavni number ‘Chandra’, the makers of Prasad Oak’s Chandramukhi (2022) recently brought out the soothing romantic track ‘Tu Chand Rati’, featuring the lead pair of Amruta Khanvilkar and Addinath Kothare.
Speaking about the film's music, composer duo Ajay-Atul said in a statement, “We are making a comeback in Marathi cinema after a while, that too with a film like Chandramukhi. After a lavni number, we have come up with a romantic track. When we came to know that we are required to give music for Chandramukhi, we realized the music should be on a large scale, like the film.”
The composers said they treat each song they create as their first. "We work on each song with the same dedication and hard work," they said, "and try to give everything to it. After these two songs, we will release a few others from the film gradually."
Chandramukhi is the first time Ajay-Atul are working with the Planet Marathi banner and they were pleased with the cooperation they got from founder Akshay Bardapurkar and the film's director Prasad Oak.
‘Tu Chand Rati’ has been written by Guru Thakur. “The lyrics of the songs had to be as powerful as the subject of the film," he explained. "Whether it’s lavni, romance or other songs, the lyrics for all are meaningful. While writing the songs, I ensured that they always suit the film’s subject and take the story forward.”
Producer Bardapurkar added, “I am glad a pair like Ajay-Atul has composed the music for the film. Whenever we used to meet to discuss the music, I would be awed by their knowledge. I also got to know the strength of their musical sense. The music of Chandramukhi will rule the hearts of the audience.”
Chandramukhi is set to be released in theatres on 29 April.
