Kangana Ranaut has created a niche for herself in female-oriented films. She has shown her action side in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi (2019), a film on the Indian revolutionary Manikarnika Tambe aka the queen of Jhansi.
Ranaut will now be seen in an out-and-out action flick — Dhaakad. But unlike Manikarnika, this one is a modern action saga. The film has an international feel to it, be it in the actions sequences, the weapons used, the sleek picturization or the avatars of the protagonist.
The teaser of Dhaakad stays true to form as it gives you a slight glimpse into the world of the film without revealing the story. Ranaut seems to be playing a secret agent who is strong and ruthless. It seems the character travels internationally on various missions, which involve taking down certain targets.
Ranaut appears comfortable while handling firearms and carrying out action sequences. The best part about the trailer is the line, 'Jism se rooh alag karna business hai mera [It’s my business to separate soul from a body]'.
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, the film also stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta but they aren’t seen in the teaser.
Produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai and distributed by Zee Studios, Dhaakad will be released in theatres on 20 May.
