The Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s Roudram Ranam Rudhiram aka RRR (2022) refused to slow down even on its third weekend. The film starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR made an impressive Rs23.50 crore nett in the period, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
After collecting Rs5 crore on Friday, the film saw a consistent jump over the next two days, making Rs8 crore and Rs10.50 crore, respectively, on Saturday and Sunday.
With this, RRR’s Hindi version has recorded the highest third-weekend collection of this year as well as the post-pandemic period. The previous record was held by The Kashmir Files (2022), which had made around Rs20 crore on its third weekend.
The grand total of RRR’s Hindi version now stands at Rs229.63 crore and the film looks set to reach the Rs250 crore mark.
But RRR’s domination of the box office is certain to be halted this week with the release of the multi-lingual KGF: Chapter 2 and Vijay's Tamil actioner Beast. According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, KGF: Chapter 2, which stars Yash and Sanjay Dutt, is expected to create history at the box office when it opens on Thursday 14 April.
Meanwhile, advance booking for the Hollywood movie Dr Strange (2022) has opened four weeks ahead of its release on 6 May. The ploy seems to be working as ticket sales have been impressive.
