The second trailer of Ajay Devgn's directorial venture Runway 34, which stars the actor as well as Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh, gives a detailed look at the aftermath of a dangerous flight.
After Devgn's senior pilot Vikrant Khanna seems to avert tragedy, a blame game ensues.
While the first trailer was all about setting up the characters and the scenario, the second one focuses on the investigation into the incident, and finding out who was at fault — man or machine?
The trailer immediately reminds you of the Denzel Washington thriller Flight (2012) and Tom Hanks-starrer Sully (2016), which were also based on true stories. Just like the protagonists in those two films, Khanna has to endure a series of inquiries. It seems that the airline is hellbent on making him the scapegoat in order to divert attention from flaws in the plane.
Rakul Preet, who plays a newly recruited pilot, and Bachchan, as the head of the inquiry, are impressive. Boman Irani essays the representative of the company while Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh also make brief appearances.
Speaking at the trailer launch in Delhi, Devgn said, "I’m playing a grey character, who’s a rule breaker. Yet, at the same time, I am all heart and I value relationships. I’m hoping you will give this trailer and Runway 34 lots of love and appreciation.’’
Runway 34 will be released in theatres on 29 April.
