Directed by Mandeep Benipal, the Punjabi-language film Dakuaan Da Munda 2 starring Dev Kharoud, is set to be released on 27 May.
Kharoud shared the teaser with his fans on Instagram.
The film seems to have a similar theme as the first film, Dakuaan Da Munda (2018), where a young kabaddi player becomes addicted to drugs. The film shows how he fights his addiction and gets back on the right track.
Based on a true story, the teaser of Dakuaan Da Munda 2 begins with the top shot of a man lying unconscious in a locked room. We then see a long-haired Dev Kharoud who describes himself as being the king of his world and is seen brandishing guns. His character is seen smoking in most shots and even taking drugs. The last shot shows him shouting and being chained to a bed, suggesting that he might be going through rehabilitation.
The gritty crime drama seems to be about addiction once again and how it ruins the lives of those who touch it.
Other cast members include Japji Khaira, Nishawn Bhullar, Raj Singh Jhinger, Lucky Dhaliwal, Preet Baath and Balwinder Bullet. The film has been produced by Ravneet Kaur Chahal and Rajesh Kumar Arora.
Kharoud has starred in Benipal's Kaka Ji (2019) and DSP Dev (2019).
