Veteran actor Nana Patekar is set to make his big-screen comeback in Anant Narayan Mahadevan's The Confession.

The social thriller was announced in a short video clip, which only features a voice-over by Patekar where he states, “I have seen the face of truth, even heard its voice. I know the truth. I am ready to give up my life but won't accept this truth." As the video ends, one can see Patekar sitting in a judge’s seat while giving an intense look.

Patekar was accused of sexual harassment by actress Tanushree Dutta in 2018, and this allegation kicked off the MeToo movement in the Hindi film industry. The actor, who hasn't been part of any film project since 2018, was cleared of molestation charges by the Mumbai police due to a lack of evidence in 2019.

Patekar was last seen opposite Rajinikanth in Pa Ranjith's political thriller Kaala (2018).

The Confession, which has been written by CP Surendran, marks the first collaboration between Patekar and Anant. The film has been produced by Narendra Hirawat, Pravin Shah, Sagoon Wagh, Ajay Kapoor and Subhash Kale.

Meanwhile, Anant has other projects awaiting release such as Doctor Rakhmabai, Bittersweet, Mai Ghat: Crime No 103/2005 and Aata Vel Zaali.
