Jersey postponed yet again due to KGF: Chapter 2 craze, to now be released on 22 April

The release date of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey, which was to arrive in theatres on 14 April, has been postponed yet again. It will now hit the screens on 22 April. 

Sharing the news, Aman Gill, one of its producers, said in a statement, “As a team, we have put our blood, sweat and tears into Jersey and would like our beloved film to reach all of you in the widest possible way.” 

It is believed that the makers didn’t want the drama to clash with two big films that are also being released this week – the multi-lingual KGF: Chapter 2 and Vijay's Tamil movie Beast. The advance booking numbers of both films have been highly impressive.

In fact, as per the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com, the advance booking for KGF: Chapter 2 has been such that it has a chance of creating history at the box office on Thursday. 

Jersey was initially to be released on 31 December 2021 but the third wave of COVID-19 and the subsequent shutdown of cinema halls in Delhi threw a spanner in the works.
