The Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s RRR has had a very good first week at the box office in India, earning Rs131.50 crore nett, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, RRR registered a first-weekend collection of almost Rs75 crore. But more importantly, it passed the Monday test with flying colours, minting Rs16.75 crore on that day.
RRR is now on the top of the list of recent Hindi films with the highest first-week collections. The previous record was held by Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (2021), which made Rs120.36 crore in its first week.
But despite RRR’s towering presence, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files had a good third week where it made Rs30.50 crore. This is a rare movie as its second-week collection (Rs107.68 crore) exceeds that of its first week (Rs96.14 crore). The film’s grand total stands at Rs234.32 crore.
But it is worth mentioning that the ruling party has been booking the film’s shows and giving away tickets for free to party workers, supporters and the public at large.
The John Abraham-starrer Attack: Part 1 hit the theatres today and, as per BoxOfficeIndia.com, it has had a slow start.
