Nakaab trailer: Esha Gupta tries to get to bottom of mystery

A suicide snowballs into a media frenzy and several murky truths about the rich and famous are unearthed. The eerily familiar-sounding plot is one of the curious points of Soumik Sen's upcoming MX Player series Nakaab.

Starring Esha Gupta and the Mallika Sherawat, the series will be streamed on the OTT platform from 15 September. 

The trailer sheds light on the plot in a seemingly simple manner. A young actress, Vibha Gupta, commits suicide on a dark night. While most police officers see it as an open-and-shut case, sub-inspector Aditi Amre (Esha Gupta) senses that there is more to the suicide than meets the eye. Her investigation leads her to producer Zohra Mehra (Mallika Sherawat) who seems to be adamant about burying the case and witnesses. 

As Aditi digs deeper, more secrets come tumbling out. 

The trailer is simple, but the plot seems complex and borrows a lot from recent events in India. Sherawat's character reminds one of her debut in Murder (2004). Gautam Rode, meanwhile, plays an officer on Gupta's side who tries to keep her safe.
