The release dates for Gippy Grewal’s Punjabi movies Paani Ch Madhaani (2021) and Posti (2022) have been announced.

Paani Ch Madhaani, which stars Grewal and Neeru Bajwa, two of Punjabi cinema's biggest stars, is slated for release at Diwali on 4 November this year.

Grewal shared a poster for the film along with the news on Twitter, saying, “Let’s celebrate this Diwali with Paani Ch Madhaani.”

Paani Ch Madhaani has been written by Naresh Kathooria while the music has been composed by Jay K. The poster has a retro look to it. The romantic comedy has been directed by cinematographer-turned-director Vijay Kumar Arora. He had directed the National award-winning sports drama Harjeeta (2018).

Grewal’s production house, Humble Motion Pictures, also put out a post on Twitter about the release date of Posti.

Written and directed by Rana Ranbir, the film is produced by Grewal and will be released on 28 January 2022.

The title of the film alludes to the drug menace that Punjab is riddled with. The post was accompanied by a line in Punjabi urging audiences to watch the film before casting their votes. Punjab is due to elect its next government in February or March 2022 and the post indicates that there will be a political bent to the film.

Posti stars Babbal Rai, Prince Kanwaljit Singh and Surilie Gautam.
