Ranbir Kapoor sports long hair in Shamshera; see first look

Yash Raj Films recently announced that the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer film Shamshera would be released on 18 March 2022.

The makers have now revealed the first look of the film’s leading man on his 39th birthday.

The still doesn’t show the full face of the actor, but it is intriguing enough to pique interest in the film, with the tagline, 'A legend will rise.'

The picture makes it clear that Kapoor will be seen sporting long hair in the movie. He did sport long hair for some part of his previous release Sanju (2018), a biopic of the actor Sanjay Dutt.

The orange colour in the background coupled with the three lines at the side of the actor’s forehead and the long hair remind you of the god Shiva.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, Shamshera also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor.

Speaking about the film in 2018, Kapoor had said that it is a period action saga based on real incidents. “Shamshera is not a story of a daaku [bandit] but a film based in the 1800s. It is about a dacoit tribe who are fighting for their rights and independence from the British. There was a great story of heroism, a story rooted in our country which happened back then,” he told the news agency Press Trust of India.
