Ray, Ali Fazal, Nushrratt Bharuccha nominated for Asia Contents Awards

Netflix India has nabbed four nominations at the third edition of the Asia Contents Awards.
The anthology series Ray (2021), directed by Srijit Mukherji, Abhishek Chaubey and Vasan Bala, has received three nominations while actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has been singled out for her performance in the anthology film Ajeeb Daastaans (2021).
Ray, produced by Viacom18 Studios’ banner Tipping Point, has been nominated for Best OTT Original alongside the Japanese series Alice In Borderland, the Thai series Girl From Nowhere (Season 2), the Chinese series The Long Night and the Korean drama Move To Heaven.
The anthology series, based on stories by legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray, is also up for the Technical Achievement award with shows like 2049, Alice In Borderland, Sweet Home and Time Traveler Luke.

Ali Fazal, who stars in the Ray segment Forget Me Not, has also been nominated for Best Actor along with Terrance Lau of Leap Day, Bai Yu of The Long Night, Lee Je-hoon of Move To Heaven, Sakai Masato of Hanzawa Naoki, and Song Joong Ki of Vincenzo.
Bharuccha, who stars in the segment Khilauna, directed by Raj Mehta, will go up against Tsuchiya Tao of Alice In Borderland, Song Jia of A Little Dilemma, Bae Doo-na of Stranger 2, and Lee Si-young of Sweet Home. Ajeeb Daastaans is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, digital wing of Dharma Productions.

The awards ceremony will be held on 7 October as a hybrid event part of the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. Local nominees can attend the event in Busan while international nominees will participate online.
