Pratik Gandhi's upcoming Hindi film Bhavai (2021), which was initially slated to be released in theatres on 1 October, has now been pushed back by three weeks.
The film will now open in theatres on 22 October, the date when theatres in Maharashtra are also set to reopen.

The decision to push back the release came days after the Maharashtra government allowed cinema halls to be reopened on 22 October.
The musical drama written and directed by Hardik Gajjar had been caught up in a few controversies since the trailer for the film was released. The film was earlier titled Ravan Leela, but after a backlash on social media, the makers changed the title back to Bhavai and also removed a sequence showing two theatre actors playing the roles of Ram (Ankur Vikal) and Raavan (Gandhi) from the trailer.
Last week, the film got caught in another controversy when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issued a show-cause notice to the makers for flouting certification rules and tampering with the film's content.
Bhavai, also starring Aindrita Ray, Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Sharma and Abhimanyu Singh, is backed by Jayantilal Gada, produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Aksshay Jayantilal Gada, Parth Gajjar and Hardik Gajjar Films.
