Diljit Dosanjh’s eagerly awaited Punjabi movie Honsla Rakh is a romantic comedy about a man being a single parent and taking care of his infant son. The film sees Sonam Bajwa and Shehnaaz Gill as the female leads.

Honsla Rakh's trailer, which has garnered 8 million views, shows Dosanjh playing an NRI who accidentally gets his wife (Gill) pregnant even though she clearly does not want children. The two file for divorce and she insists on the father getting custody of the baby. Dosanjh is then seen struggling with the infant, trying to manage single parenthood and take care of his child. The story then shifts to the child being a young boy and Dosanjh trying to woo another woman (Sonam Bajwa) but things get complicated when his ex-wife decides to return.

Honsla Rakh is a romantic comedy, a genre that Dosanjh is well known for. Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron and written by Rakesh Dhawan, the trailer has witty dialogues and several hilarious moments. The story, too, is a novel one for Punjabi cinema and the film looks to be an all-round family entertainer.

The film also marks the debut of Shinda Grewal, son of Punjabi actor and singer Gippy Grewal. The film will be released in theatres on Dussehra, which falls on 15 October.
