The month of October will begin with the Malayalam feature, Bhramam, a remake of Sriram Raghavan's acclaimed Andhadhun (2018). The film will star Prithviraj Sukumaran. This is followed by the much-awaited release of Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham. The film will see Vicky Kaushal play the role of martyr Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, former lieutenant-general of the Punjab provinces as retribution for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Another Hindi film that closely follows in the heels of Sardar Udham is Dybbuk. Starring Emraan Hashmi, the film is a remake of Prithviraj Sukumaran led horror film Ezra (2017). The film will be directed by Jay Krishnan, who also directed the original in Malayalam.
In addition, the platform has already announced two other major Tamil features, the Sasikumar-Jyothika starrer Udanpirappe (2021) and the Suriya-led Jai Bhim (2021). They are part of a four-film direct-to-OTT release plan announced by Suriya's home production, 2D Entertainment, earlier this year.
October will also see Amazon Prime unveil the second season of the stand-up comedy series One Mic Stand. The OTT platform also has a number of international features lined up for the month, including the Dev Patel- starter The Green Knight.
