Parambrata Chatterjee’s upcoming science-fiction thriller Bony will be released this Durga Puja, which falls in the month of October.
Starring Koel Mallick, Anjan Dutt and the director himself, the film is based on a novel by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay. The director made the announcement by sharing a poster on Twitter.

In the film, Chatterjee and Mallick play a couple that has settled in Milan. Their newborn baby possesses certain superpowers. An American-born Bangladeshi scientist runs away from his country to search for the special child, hoping to get answers with regard to a unique experiment that he has undertaken.
In a parallel narrative, strange occurrences begin to take place in a middle-class Bengali household. A humble clerk, who is an amateur inventor, gets hold of a dysfunctional robot and his life begins to take an unexpected turn.
In the poster, Chatterjee and Mallick can be seen covering their baby, while being on the run. The image of the robot in front suggests it plays a crucial role in saving the baby from impending danger.
Though written a decade ago, the story, according to the director, is way ahead of its time. Actor Kanchan Mullick also plays a major character in the film, which has been shot in Tuscany, Italy.
