Director Arindam Sil will direct Zee5’s upcoming Feluda series, starring Parambrata Chatterjee as the eponymous sleuth and Rwitobroto Mukherjee as his sidekick Topse. Chatterjee previously directed a Feluda series himself for Addatimes in which he played the private investigator while Riddhi Sen essayed the role of Topse.
According to a report by Anandaplus, an entertainment supplement of Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika, Chatterjee passed the responsibility of directing the series to Sil as he is preoccupied with several projects. Sil has successfully directed similar projects such as the Byomkesh Bakshi films Har Har Byomkesh (2015), Byomkesh Parbo (2016), and Byomkesh Gowtro (2018); two films from the Shabor franchise, Ebar Shabor (2015) and Asche Abar Shabor (2018); and Mitin Mashi (2019), the first Bengali film centred on a female detective, based on author Suchitra Bhattacharya’s titular character.
The first season of the series will be based on Satyajit Ray’s novella Gangtokey Gondogol.
The director, however, did not reveal much regarding the project. He is currently busy shooting his upcoming films Khela Jawkhon and Mahananda.
