Collaborating to build a slate of films further strengthens our long-term association with Karan and Dharma Productions."
The studio is also producing other big-name projects such as the Forrest Gump (1994) remake Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan; the Mitali Raj biopic Shabaash Mithu, starring Taapsee Pannu; and the Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone-starrer Fighter (2022), directed by Siddharth Anand.
Johar said, "In Viacom18 Studios and Ajit, we have a partner who not only shares our vision in storytelling but also has our approach to differentiated cinema. Dharma Productions has been committed to entertaining movie-goers the world over with every film and this partnership will further enable it.”

We believe that strategic alliances are the way forward for the film industry and this partnership is the stepping-stone to a long-term alliance.”
Dharma’s latest production was the Vikram Batra biopic Shershaah (2021), starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, which was released on Amazon Prime last month.
The four films that are part of this deal are in different stages of production and are due to be released over the next 18- 24 months. Viacom18 has also acquired satellite rights for these films for its leading broadcast channels.
