Actor Naga Chaitanya, who makes his Hindi film debut with Laal Singh Chaddha, has revealed that working with Aamir Khan has been a life-changing experience. He has revealed in an interview that working with Aamir for 45 days has taught him more than what he has over the course of the past 12 years.
In an interview with the Film Companion platform, Chaitanya opened on the experience of rubbing shoulders with Aamir in Laal Singh Chaddha, which is the Indian adaptation of Forrest Gump (1994).
“Whatever I’ve learnt in the last twelve years, I learnt more in the last forty-five days. He’s got this amazing magic that can rub off on people, and he doesn’t do it on purpose. His dedication to cinema — he’s in tune with every craft as much as he is with acting. He always talks about the content first, numbers and packaging come in the end. That’s something I learnt from him,” he said.
Originally, Vijay Sethupathi was cast for this role which was eventually bagged by Naga Chaitanya.
In the film, Naga Chaitanya will be seen playing a crucial role as Aamir Khan’s best friend.
Laal Singh Chaddha, which is set to be released this December, also features Kareena Kapoor Khan. It has been directed by Advait Chandan.
Meanwhile, Chaitanya awaits the release of his forthcoming Telugu film, Love Story, which releases this Friday. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, it marks the maiden collaboration of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi.
Chaitanya also has a project titled Thank You with filmmaker Vikram Kumar in the pipeline.
