Actress Darshana Banik will be seen opposite Akkineni Nagarjuna in Kalyan Krishna's upcoming film Bangarraju. The actress is currently shooting for the social fantasy drama in Hyderabad and she plays the character of Apsara.
According to the model-turned-actress, the opportunity to work with Nagarjuna has been an honour for her. "I was excited when I heard it was for Nag Sir's film because he is someone I look up to," said Banik while speaking to Deccan Chronicle, an English daily.
"And this is early in my career; I did not expect that I'd get to work with him," she added.
The actress did not reveal much about her character in the film but shared her learning experiences from Nagarjuna. "He is so chilled on the sets and his ability to switch on and off the camera is something I should pick up. Moreover, he seems to love what he does," said the actress, who bonded with her co-actor over Bengali food and culture on the sets.
Banik also had to shed a few kilos to play the character. "Although I can't talk much about my role. I can say it is a challenging role as it demands a lot physically and psychologically too," she said.
The actress has worked in the Telugu film Aatagallu (2018) and is currently working in Tamil film Yaarakkum Anjael, besides her Bengali projects Antaratma and Operation Sunderbans.
