Sourav Chakraborty is set to direct his futuristic drama Saarey Shaitirish

Almost two years after his Shobdo Jobdo won the Bronze award for Most Popular Web-series in a Regional Language at the ET Brand Equity SPOTT Awards 2020, Sourav Chakraborty is set to direct his next series titled Saarey Shaitirish, starring Soham Majumder, Solanki Roy, Shatar Figar, Sohini Sengupta, Chitrangada Chakraborty, Ekavali Khanna, Kinjal Ananda, Subrata Dutta, Silajit Majumder, Koushik Kar and Shovan Chakraborty.

Presented by Trickster & Span Productions, Saarey Shaitirish is a futuristic drama based on a dystopian society in the not-too-distant future. Saarey Shaitirish is the first independent venture of Trickster & Span Productions.

Speaking of the social satire, the director said, “One might ask why Saarey Shaitirish [37½]? It refers to the year 2037, a time yet to come but one that we are all hopeful about. Ironically, we find that things have turned out not quite the way we have dreamt of.”

Before Shobdo Jobdo, Sourav also directed the Hoichoi web-series Dhanbad Blues and Cartoon.
