The Akshay Kumar-starrer Bell Bottom made Rs1 crore nett and Rs70 lakh nett on its second Monday and Tuesday, respectively, in theatres, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The film, which also features Lara Dutta Bhupathi, Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor and Adil Hussain, had collected Rs2.25 crore on its second Sunday, which was better than what was expected after a poor first week. But the film’s grand total of Rs24.70 crore is still poor, even after accounting for its non-release in Maharashtra, the biggest hub for Hindi cinema.
The poor run of the Rumy Jafry-directed Chehre also continued on its first Monday with the film collecting a meagre Rs40 lakh nett. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, the film has so far made only Rs2.25 crore nett in its first four days in cinemas.
Meanwhile, Punjabi movie Chal Mera Putt 2 continues its fine run at the ticket window despite the 50% occupancy rule. After collecting Rs1.55 crore on Sunday, the film saw only a marginal drop in numbers on Monday, making Rs1.10 crore.
The film starring Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal was re-released on Friday and has made a total of Rs4.81 crore in four days. It was released initially in March 2020 but had to be taken down soon after in the wake of the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, it had made Rs2.92 crore. Hence, its grand total is an impressive Rs7.73 crore.
Chal Mera Putt 2 has opened well even in North America. In its first three days, it has made $633,000, which amounts to Rs4.6 crore approximately, according to BoxOfficeGuru.com.
