If you work in a creative field, it is likely that you will be called to get creative in your day-to-day work, and once in a while, you will get stuck in a mental rut. This is exactly what Jayasurya goes through in the upcoming Malayalam film Sunny.

Written and directed by Ranjith Sankar,  Sunny is backed by Amazon Prime Video, Jayasurya and Ranjith and lined for release on the OTT platform on 23 September.

The first visual of the short teaser for the film shows Jayasurya in contemplation as he is trying to overcome his creative block. He is looking for some inspiration. We also hear his well-wishers on the phone praising and encouraging him to get out of this block.

Even with its short length, the teaser gives a fair idea about the emotional crisis Sunny is going through. It seems Jayasurya is playing the role of a man who has lost everything in life in the midst of the global pandemic and shut himself off from society.

This being a musician's story, good music is imperative in the film, and the daunting task has been taken up by composer Sankar Sharma.

Sunny is Jayasurya's 100th film and the second to have a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video after Sufiyum Sujatayum (2020). Watch the teaser below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
