The second chapter of the first season of Prakash Jha’s web-series Aashram was released in November last year. The second season recently went on the floors in Jaipur and shooting will continue for a month, according to the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS).
The MX Player show sees Bobby Deol play Baba Nirala, a seemingly pious character who is evil to the core. Bhopa Swami, played by Chandan Roy Sanyal, is his right-hand man and partner-in-crime.
Speaking about the importance of Aashram for him, Sanyal told the news agency, “Aashram marked a turning point in the trajectory of my career. It gave me a special identity as an actor. The production team is taking all the necessary precautions and the love for making content people will love is palpable during the shoot.”
About what to expect from the show this time round, the actor added, “Revisiting Bhopa Swami is very exciting for me because this season is all about new twists.”
Bobby Deol has another web-series on the anvil in the form of Penthouse on Netflix. The project sees him reunite with director duo Abbas-Mustan with whom he has had a longstanding association. The actor will also be seen in Apne 2, the sequel to his 2007 movie Apne, which also starred brother Sunny Deol and father Dharmendra.
